The City Municipality of Pantelej is the winner of the Commendation for the contribution to development of various forms of accessibility on its territory in 2016, as one of only two municipalities in Serbia (the other is Municipality of Zvezdara, Belgrade) which were selected to receive the award. The Commendation was officially presented to the President of the City Municipality of Pantelej, Bratimir Vasiljevic, at a convenient gathering of all the award winners in Belgrade. According to the Public Call which was published towards the end of the previous year, the City Municipality of Pantelej presented its activities  for the support of the persons with disabilities and elderly people with walking difficulties. The Decision about the Commendation was made by the Award Committee which consisted of the representatives of the Ombudsman, the Standing conference of cities and municipalities, the Team for social inclusion and poverty reduction of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the organizations of civil society which are the members of the Council of the Ombudsman for the persons with disabilities and elderly population.
