Session of the Republic Sub-board for Monitoring the State of Agriculture

On the initiative of the City Municipality of Pantelej, as a part of the Programme of the traditional manifestation "Matejevac Grape Harvest 2016", in the City Municipality of Pantelej building, a Session of the Republic Board for Monitoring the State of Agriculture in underdeveloped and marginalized areas was held. The participants of the working session were the Members of the Parliament of the Republic of Serbia from this part of the country, the presidents of the interested city municipalities of the City of Nis: Pantelej, Palilula and Niska Banja, the Member of the Council of the City of Nis in charge of the agricultural sector, as well as the Head of the Department for Agriculture of the City of Nis and numerous representatives of expert institutions in this sector and members of the vocational associations. After the 2-hour long constructive discussion about the state and the perspectives of agriculture in this part of Serbia and, especially, in the underdeveloped areas of the City of Nis with predominately fruits and wine production, the priorities were defined to be presented on the republic level by the MPs and the Board Memberslead by the President of the Board, Milija Miletic. The priorities include the alterations of the Rule Book for the areas with difficult working conditions which would make all the municipalities in the South of Serbia equal in status in the matter of subventions and incentives, support the renewal of the Center for wine production in Nis, include the state aid in resolving the proprietary issues with co-operative buildings and other object in service of agriculture, as well as, the priorities in the sector of reparcelling and introduction of irrigation systems on significantly higher percentage of agricultural land.
