In addition to valuable cultural riches, the Municipality of Pantelej posesses another extraordinary natural jewel, the wild and mystic Cerje cave and represents the special area with favourable conditions for adrenalin tourism, the popularity of which is growing as we speak, and numerous extreme sports disciplines promoted under the patronage or organised by the Municipality. Preserved natural spaces turned into holiday venues, Kamenicki vis, Dabilo and Gradac offer possibilities for active holidays in nature and represent favourite destinations for the citizens of Pantelej and the City of Nis. Extremely valuable religious heritage, composed of two ancient monasteries, Saint John near the village of Gornji Matejevac and Saint George in the village of Kamenica, together with 12 churches belonging to various historical epoches, most prominent of which being the Latin Church from XI century, mark this area as an attractive destination for the religious tourism lovers.

The blend of preserved natural riches and centuries-long religious tradition, together with impressive monastery and church heritage, have contributed that Pantelej be perceived as the Municipality which is a successful "guard of tradition". This epithet has been acquired through the nurturing of the old crafts tradition, domestic handicrafts and folklore minutely protected within the House of Old Crafts, which is a kind of a museum of crafts and local folklore. It is a venue of regular gatherings of skillful craftsmen who are the masters of old crafts from this region and the other regions of Serbia, and starting a few years back, the venue of the International Old Crafts Fair in the cross-border region Serbia-Bulgaria. Being a community with prominent traditional values, the Municipality of Pantelej persistently supports all traditional events connected to fruits and grapes growing which this region used to be famous for on the whole of Balkans. To celebrate viticulture, wine producers and wine cellar owners, each year, on the Saint Tryphon, in spirit of tradition and folklore, the beginning of the trimming of the vines is organised, and, towards the end of September, in no less authentic manner, the beginning of the grapes picking in Matejevac vineyards and the new season of the domestic wine production in famillu cellars is marked.
